Arlene ensures that acquired assets provide robust claim scope and that claimed subject matter aligns closely with each client’s business goals. She also advises clients during IP acquisitions and provides opinions on the commercial and strategic aspects of selected IP rights.

As a patent attorney, Arlene has personally drafted and prosecuted more than 800 U.S. and international utility patent applications across a wide variety of technical fields. Her experience also includes reissue applications and participation in America Invents Act (AIA) post-grant proceedings.

In addition to her patent and trademark prosecution work, Arlene prepares patentability, freedom-to-operate, infringement, and invalidity opinions; conducts IP due diligence in connection with acquisitions; and drafts and reviews licenses, contracts, and other IP-related agreements.

As a business advisor, Arlene helps clients launch new ventures, protect their assets, and structure their business operations for long-term success.
