Kyle concentrates his practice on client counseling with respect to all facets of IP law. The bulk of Kyle’s practice is in the area of patent procurement (prosecution) and related patent portfolio management across numerous technology areas. He counsels clients on a range of IP issues including: US and foreign patent prosecutions strategies, patent enforcement, and infringement defense, IP licensing, IP due diligence, and IP ownership.

Kyle has prepared and prosecuted over 300 patent applications for clients including both publicly and privately held companies, universities, start-ups, and individual inventors. Kyle has particular experience with preparation, prosecution, and evaluation of patents involving software related inventions in the United States and foreign jurisdictions.

Kyle also has experience with ex-parte and inter-parte reexamination proceedings and has been involved with the IP aspects of due diligence inquiries supporting the acquisition and spin-off of technology companies, contributing to numerous successful deals.

Wile attending the University of Virginia School of Law, Kyle completed individual courses in all areas of IP, including patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets. As a student at MIT, Kyle conducted research and contributed to research papers relating to the modeling of plasma turbulence in Tokamak fusion reactors.
